COVID - 19 has had a dramatic effect on how we all lead our lives. Those who require day to day support are even more vulnerable. We have a holistic approach which focusses on emotional well-being as much as physical well-being.
We are always planning ahead and were lucky to have a detailed contingency plan for a variety of instances - incluing unforseen diseases, viruses etc. This was implemented immediately at the start of COVID and our amazing team took everything we threw at them and helped our clients to adapt to the changes we were making.
We have managed to keep our offices open, with an enhanced COVID policy and risk assessment, rotational staff working, and a booking in system for visitors
We communicated up until reently through monthly update bulletins, sent to all staff and clients / relatives keeping them up to date with changes and how we are managing new legislation
COVID infection control training was implemented in addition to the normal training we offer
We provided our team with PPE in addition to the reccomended minimum
We have weekly testing in place
We had an agreement with a local supermarket to carry out weekly shopping for all of our clients before the supermarket opened to the public, this minimised our exposure and reduced the need for our staff to expose themselves between calls. It also provided peace of mind for worried relatives who were unable to visit and unable to source online deliveries at the height of the pandemic.
We are carrying out welfare calls to those clients and staff who have been most effected emotionally by the outbreak.
Shopping sort out before delivering to our clients
